Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Finance Manager plays a pivotal leadership role at the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority, overseeing the financial stewardship, governance, and strategic financial direction of one of Victoria's most significant coastal and tourism regions.

About The Role
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the organisation's financial integrity, performance, and compliance. You will lead a capable finance team and partner closely with executive leadership and operational teams to enable informed decision-making and sound financial governance.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Leading the development and execution of financial strategies aligned to organisational priorities
* Overseeing all budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
* Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in line with accounting standards and public sector requirements
* Providing financial insights, analysis, and advice to support strategic and operational decision-making
* Ensuring strong cash flow management and efficient use of organisational resources
* Leading and developing the finance team, including capability building, mentoring, and performance management
* Managing audit processes and maintaining strong internal controls and compliance frameworks
* Building effective relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies, financial institutions, and auditors
* Driving continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting capability
About You
You are a confident and experienced finance leader who brings both technical expertise and a practical, solutions-focused mindset. You are comfortable operating in complex environments and can translate financial data into meaningful insights for non-financial stakeholders.
You Will Bring
Technical Capability
* Strong analytical and numerical capability with high attention to detail
* Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting skills
* Sound understanding of financial regulations, audit processes, and compliance frameworks
* Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms
Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance management role (public sector or government experience highly regarded)
* Proven experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting cycles
* Demonstrated leadership of finance teams and resource management
* Experience supporting audits and strengthening internal controls
* Track record of delivering financial strategy and continuous improvement initiatives
