Job Description
Downer's Maintenance & ITS business is proud to be expanding its footprint across South Australia, delivering vital road and asset maintenance and construction services across the Barossa, Riverland and South East Regions, covering approximately 5,600 km of sealed road network. It's an exciting time to be part of a team that's delivering these critical works across the state.
Downer is looking for a detail‐driven Operational Support Officer to provide essential administrative and depot support that keeps our projects running smoothly. If you thrive in a fast‐paced environment and love making things happen behind the scenes, this role is for you.
There are 2 positions available, which can be based in Loxton, Naracoorte, Murray Bridge or Walkley Heights.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver accurate and timely administrative, financial, and depot support to operational teams.
* Process purchase orders, invoices, and job costing tasks while maintaining compliance with procedures.
* Coordinate PPE, consumables, travel, and accommodation for crews to ensure readiness and efficiency.
* Attend toolbox meetings, record minutes, and distribute actions promptly.
* Provide basic IT support and maintain organised filing systems and document control.
What you'll bring
* Certificate in business administration and/or finance highly desirable
* Experience in administration within business, depot, or operational environments.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial and transactional tasks.
* Proficiency in ERP systems (JDEGS, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Professional communication skills and a customer‐focused approach to supporting operational teams.
