Job Description
As a Municipal Ranger, you will play a vital role in maintaining the community's safety and promoting responsible animal ownership. You will work closely with local authorities to enforce laws and regulations, monitor animal management issues, and implement education programs to raise awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
* Enforce Council policies and laws while interacting with the community.
* Monitor animal management across the municipality, responding promptly to any issues that arise.
* Issue fines and act as an authorised officer under relevant legislation.
* Implement effective animal management programs focusing on education and community engagement.
* Handle, trap, and transport animals safely and humanely when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A current driver's license is mandatory for this position.
* Hold or be able to obtain Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services/Investigations).
* Possess a firearms licence for Categories A & B or be willing to obtain one.
* Hold qualifications in Animal Management or a related field.
* Accreditation in Behavioural & Training of Dangerous Animals (Dogs) is highly desirable.
* National Police and Working with Children's Clearances are essential.
* Demonstrated experience in dog handling, behaviour, trapping, and transport is crucial for success in this role.
