Energy Transition Professional
This is a business development opportunity with a renewable energy developer and operator delivering tailored clean energy solutions for large commercial and industrial clients.
* The company designs, builds, owns, and operates solar and battery energy storage systems along with integrated energy solutions to support their customers' transition to net zero.
Responsibilities:
* Identify new business opportunities across the commercial and industrial energy sector.
* Manage the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to signed contract.
* Develop and present solar and BESS solutions that align with client sustainability and financial goals.
* Prepare and coordinate compelling proposals, bids, and tenders for solar and energy storage projects.
* Lead commercial negotiations and secure contracts in line with strategic objectives.
* BUILD strong relationships with senior stakeholders including sustainability leads, CFOs, and operational teams.
* Collaborate with engineering, finance, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are technically and commercially viable.
* Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline and regularly report on sales performance.
* Monitor industry developments, competitor activity, and market trends to inform strategy and positioning.
* Evaluate and mitigate project risks to maintain client confidence throughout the process.
About You:
* Demonstrated success in business development or sales within the renewable energy sector.
* Experience selling to commercial and industrial clients with a strong understanding of their operational and sustainability drivers.
* Skilled in managing complex sales processes including tenders, financial modelling, proposal writing, and contract negotiation.
* Able to communicate complex technical solutions in a clear and commercially compelling way.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills with proficiency in CRM systems.
* Knowledge of embedded networks, microgrids, or behind-the-meter energy solutions.
* Familiarity with relevant Australian energy market regulations, policy incentives, and renewable energy frameworks.
* Background in working within or alongside engineering, delivery, or asset management teams.
