Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist Registrar
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated applicant to join our team as a Radiation Oncology Medical Physics Registrar. As part of the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) Radiation Oncology Medical Physics (ROMP) Training, Education and Assessment Program, you will gain experience in a range of clinical medical physics services.
The Department
Alfred Health Radiation Oncology operates two radiotherapy centres in Victoria, one at The Alfred Hospital campus and the other at Latrobe Regional Health in Traralgon.
We have a strong commitment to innovation and technology, with state-of-the-art equipment including High Definition TrueBeam Linacs, 3D printing capability, and advanced treatment planning systems.
Our team provides technical and clinical support for specialized treatments, manages patient and staff radiation safety, and conducts quality assurance programs.
The Role
As our new Registrar, you will work closely with experienced Radiation Oncology Medical Physicists, Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Nurses, and other Allied Health Professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
You will participate in the ROMP TEAP program and gain experience in areas such as radiation safety, dosimetry, radiotherapy equipment, and treatment planning.
Qualifications and Experience Required
* Approved undergraduate degree in physics from ACPSEM
* Eligibility to enrol in ACPSEM ROMP TEAP
* Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and interact with patients
* Flexibility to work out of hours as required
* High level of oral and written communication skills
* Victorian Radiation Use Licence
