About the Role
As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you will play a key role in:
* Maintaining and repairing a variety of plant equipment to ensure peak performance and reliability.
* Diagnosing faults, conducting breakdown repairs, and supporting planned maintenance activities.
* Working collaboratively with electrical tradespeople, non-trades staff, and other team members.
* Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and supporting minor capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across plant systems and machinery.
* Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Support production goals by minimising equipment downtime.
* Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and implement effective solutions.
* Liaise with the Maintenance Supervisor and other departments to prioritise and schedule work.
* Maintain documentation and records using maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP).
* Provide technical support and mentoring to other maintenance staff.
* Participate in small project work and equipment improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring
* A recognised mechanical trade qualification with post-trade experience.
* Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting—preferably food production.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with maintenance planning and work scheduling procedures.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Working knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices.
* Basic computer literacy.
