With a strong commitment to workmanship and safety, our client is seeking to add a skilled Painting Trade Worker to their dedicated team to help deliver consistent, reliable and top-tier painting outcomes for their growing client base.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
* Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, or removing old paint and finishes.
* Measure surface areas to estimate material quantities based on specifications and drawings.
* Fill holes, cracks, and joints using appropriate sealants and fillers.
* Mix and match paint colours according to required specifications and colour schemes.
* Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
* Set up and safely operate scaffolding, ladders, and elevated platforms.
* Protect non-painted areas using drop sheets and masking techniques.
* Repair minor woodwork and surfaces before painting.
* Hang wallpaper, match patterns, and trim edges as required.
* Select and prepare paints, varnishes, and finishes to suit varied surfaces.
* Maintain and clean painting tools, spray guns, and equipment.
* Ensure compliance with OH&S protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
* Inspect completed work for defects and perform touch-ups where necessary.
* Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines.
* Work on both residential and commercial job sites with professionalism and care.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
* Certificate III in Painting and Decorating is essential for this role.
* Certificate IV in Building and Construction.
* Minimum one year of hands-on painting experience in Australian environments.
* Experience in preparing and applying various types of paint finishes.
* Ability to safely operate ladders, scaffolding, and relevant equipment.
* Strong understanding of colour mixing and paint selection for different surfaces.
* Working
With Children Check is required for compliance and site access.
* Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints and job specifications.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in the painting trade.
