Find purpose and impact
As an Apprentice Carpenter, will make an impact by supporting the construction and maintenance of Council infrastructure including cultural centres, depots, and administrative buildings. While working under supervision, they will gain hands-on experience in carpentry tasks and tools, contribute to team-based projects, and adhere to safety and compliance standards. The role also involves formal training towards a Certificate III in Carpentry, with a strong emphasis on learning, teamwork, and safe work practices.
You'll make an impact by:
* Assisting in the construction, maintenance, and repair of Council facilities.
* Operating hand and power tools safely under supervision.
* Complying with Work Health and Safety procedures, including PPE use and hazard reporting.
* Participating in on-the-job and formal training to complete a Certificate III in Carpentry.
Working collaboratively within a team and communicate respectfully with colleagues and the public.
What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
* Willingness to learn and commit to a structured apprenticeship program.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
* Good physical fitness.
* Basic computer skills.
We would also love you to have:
* Previous experience operating powered and unpowered hand tools.
P1, P2 or C Class Drivers Licence
