Our Next Civil/Mining Landform Designer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Landform Designer with a civil or mining background to join our growing team This position will provide technical expertise in the area of civil design and surface water management in support of integrated mine planning and mine closure projects. This is a hybrid role in either Perth or Brisbane.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

6. Assist in the preparation of mine landform designs and drawings.
7. Provide support in the technical application of landform design and mine waste management.
8. Collate and assist in preparation of technical documentation, proposals and reports in area of technical discipline.
9. Provide peer and technical review of reports.
10. Contribute to teams responsible for project delivery, to Okane's company standards.
11. Apply an understanding of key design principles to assist in the delivery of new approaches to solve problems.
12. Develop strong relationships within the mining industry, foster existing client relationships, and leverage client relationships to generate new leads and opportunities or initiate referrals.
13. Demonstrate care about the wellbeing of yourself and others, through actively participating in occupational health and safety standards, activities and initiatives.
* Actively learn and develop capabilities in landform evolution & erosion modelling.

Job Requirements

14. Embody Okane's Core Vision (Help Create a Better Tomorrow) and Values (Passionate, Smart and Clever, Positive, Thoughtful and Caring, and Humble).
15. Awareness of regulations, codes and standards including relevant professional procedures and practices.
16. An understanding of surface water hydrology/hydraulics will be highly regarded.
17. Strong written and oral communication skills, and experience with technical report writing, technical data and design review, and technical report peer review.
18. Experience in civil, environmental, geo-environmental or environmental sciences or similar.
19. Passion to develop skills and experience of sustainability in mining and mine planning design.
20. Mining, or client-side experience is considered an asset (but is not required).
21. Ability and willingness to coordinate with staff and clients in different time zones.
* Experience using relevant software packages including Civil3D, QGIS, ArcGIS, SIBERIA, CAESAR, is considered an asset.
