About the opportunity

Are you ready to lead and shape the future of risk management at Mercy Health? The Group Risk Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to drive the Enterprise Risk function for a large and complex healthcare organisation. You'll play a pivotal role in developing the frameworks, processes, improvements and partnerships needed to protect and advance Mercy Health's mission.

This role provides the chance to work across all aspects of risk management - from staff education and risk assessments to enhancing systems and maintaining risk assurance maps. You will be a trusted representative who will provide risk and assurance information to influence decisions at all tiers of the organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Risk and Assurance Officer, you will build trusted relationships with the senior leadership and risk peers across the healthcare sector, fostering a culture of resilience and proactive risk management. As a leader, you'll also mentor and develop the Senior Risk Advisor, shaping the next generation of risk professionals.

Key accountabilities
* Co-design the Enterprise Risk Strategy and Improvement Plan and Risk Management Framework with guidance from the Chief Risk and Assurance Officer.

* Manage a large and complex organisation-wide annual work program, including staff education, risk assessment, reporting, and risk advisory and assurance work.

* Collaborate with quality, safety and compliance specialists in other teams to provide robust risk and assurance information to support senior leaders make big decisions.

* Represent the Enterprise Risk team at all levels of the organisation from projects up to board.

* Supervise and develop the Senior Risk Advisor.


What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience (5+ years) with responsibility for implementation and improvement of risk management frameworks (or similar).

* Demonstrated experience in constructively engaging and influencing senior organisational leaders.

* Experience with enterprise risk management software (e.g. Camms.Risk).

* Commitment to the mission and values of Mercy Health and Catholic Health - this includes a requirement to be highly principled and embrace the values of Mercy Health.

* Ability to analyse and synthesise large amounts of information to identify risks and opportunities.

* Ability to prepare and present complex reports and training packages.


Qualifications and requirements:

* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (health, aged care, law, commerce)
* Desirable: experience in either aged care or health care industries

* Occasional travel to Mercy Health operational sites is a requirement of this role.

Comply with mandatory vaccination and compliance (e.g. NDIS, Police Check) requirements as directed by State and Territory public health orders.
