**Band 5 Role – Salary from $120,000 + Super

Working within the Strategy team at TasNetworks, the role of Advanced Data Analyst is responsible for influencing informed data driven transformation decisions, educating and providing support to various stakeholders across the business whilst working autonomously on data analyses and subsequent business improvement initiatives. The role will perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and patterns and develop and implement data models and create visualisations to effectively communicate and present insights and recommendations based on commercial needs of the business.
Success in this role comes from understanding the business context, engaging with stakeholders to uncover hidden analytical opportunities, influencing decisions, and working across enterprise systems such as SAP and GIS to connect data to business problems and extract meaningful insights and recommendations.
About You
To be successful as an Advanced Data Analyst, you will have experience in providing business intelligence and data analysis to various stakeholders, within a large data driven enterprise. You will have a good commercial acumen and an ability to connect business processes or business improvement to data. Success in this role comes from understanding the business context, engaging with stakeholders to uncover hidden analytical opportunities, influencing decisions, and working across enterprise systems such as SAP and GIS to connect data to business problems and extract meaningful insights.
You Will Also Bring
* Formal qualifications in a relevant discipline with experience in programming languages (Python, JavaScript), data visualisation tools (Power BI or similar) and proficiency in SQL for extracting and manipulating data
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information across varying datasets, with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with teams, providing data driven recommendations in line with business strategy
* Determined ability to solve problems and use initiative
* Understanding of business processes and key challenges in relevant domains, such as operations, field delivery, asset management, corporate finance – or a demonstrated ability to learn and become relevant on multiple business areas
* Ability to work closely with business leaders to define key metrics, and identify trends and opportunities whilst being able to coach and influence recommendations and approach on implementation
* You enjoy digging into business problems, asking questions, and partnering with teams to understand not just what they need, but what they may not have thought to ask. You're also confident in guiding stakeholders and influencing outcomes with recommendations informed by data
