Management Committee Member – Finance and Accounting

RDA Carine is seeking expressions of interest from experienced finance and accounting professionals to join its Management Committee.
RDA Carine is a not-for-profit organisation delivering therapeutic and community-based programs for people with disability. The organisation is currently undergoing a period of organisational renewal and growth, including the recent appointment of a new Executive Officer, with a focus on strengthening governance, improving sustainability, and positioning the organisation for long-term impact.
Nature of the Appointment
This is a voluntary, working Management Committee role.
Committee members are expected to contribute actively beyond formal meetings, applying their professional expertise to support governance, strategy, and organisational development. This role will suit individuals who are comfortable operating in an environment where governance oversight and practical contribution coexist, while maintaining appropriate boundaries between committee and management.
Skills and Experience Sought
The Committee is seeking to strengthen its collective capability and is particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Accounting and Finance – Provide strategic financial oversight and guidance to the Management Committee and Executive Officer. Candidates should bring senior-level experience in financial management, with demonstrated capability in budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ability to interpret financial statements, identify risks, and contribute to sound governance and decision-making is essential. Experience working with Xero accounting software or similar platforms is desirable.
Prior board or committee experience is welcomed but not essential. Candidates should demonstrate sound judgement, professional credibility, and an understanding of governance responsibilities.
Governance and Contribution
Management Committee members contribute to:
* Strategic oversight and organisational stewardship
* Governance, risk management, and fiduciary responsibility
* Participation in sub-committees or project-based work aligned to expertise
* Constructive engagement with the Executive Officer and leadership team
* Advocacy for the organisation's purpose and community impact
Time Commitment
* Approximately one meeting per month
* Additional involvement in working groups or projects, as agreed
* Meetings are primarily held in Perth, with some flexibility where required

* Remuneration: Expenses only
* Term: Initial term to be agreed, with the possibility of reappointment
