About the role
This role sits at the heart of a growing in-house legal team that supports a national, multi-entity organisation. As the business continues to expand, the volume and complexity of contracts, governance obligations and corporate activity increases — and this position exists to ensure the legal function runs with precision, speed and structure.
You will work alongside senior lawyers and the General Counsel to keep legal processes flowing, documents accurate and compliance obligations met. It is an ideal role for a career paralegal or final-year law student who enjoys working across systems, documents, governance and transactions in a commercially focused environment.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for managing the core systems and workflows that underpin the legal team, including:
• Maintaining contract and precedent libraries so documents are current, accessible and easy to use
• Controlling versions, approvals and e-signature processes
• Creating and updating internal guides, templates and FAQs
• Supporting legal technology such as matter management, spend tracking and board portals
• Producing reports on matters, documents and legal spend
Your work ensures lawyers can move quickly without compromising accuracy or risk.
Supporting corporate and commercial activity
You will assist the team on a wide range of legal projects, including:
• Preparing first drafts of standard agreements such as NDAs, supplier contracts and letters
• Setting up and managing due diligence data rooms
• Coordinating signing and completion packs for corporate transactions
• Organising training materials and session logistics
This gives you hands-on exposure to how deals and corporate projects are executed inside a business.
Clinic, property and dispute support
You will also help with the day-to-day legal needs of the operating businesses by:
• Compiling lease and property documentation and tracking key dates
• Managing routine approvals, variations and consents
• Organising dispute files and preparing bundles for external lawyers
• Recording time and activity for internal charge-back purposes
Corporate governance and compliance
A major part of the role involves slicing through corporate administration and ensuring the group stays compliant. This includes:
• Preparing and lodging ASIC and business name filings
• Managing company registers and entity records
• Assisting with director appointments and onboarding
• Maintaining corporate data in governance platforms such as Diligent
You will help ensure the organisation's corporate structure is accurate, transparent and audit-ready at all times.
Who this role suits
This role is suited to:
• A career paralegal looking for a sophisticated in-house position, or
• A final-year law student wanting exposure to governance, transactions and legal operations
You will ideally have:
• Previous experience in a law firm or in-house legal team
• Strong document management and organisational skills
• Confidence using legal technology and reporting tools
How you work
You are someone who:
• Has exceptional attention to detail
• Is highly organised and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
• Enjoys working with systems, documents and processes
• Is proactive, reliable and service-focused
• Can remain calm and accurate during deal closings and board cycles
