Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The role involves assisting individuals with varying physical, mental, or emotional needs, helping them live as independently as possible. This includes providing personal care, emotional support, and assistance with daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care (e.g., showering, dressing, eating) and mobility.
* Facilitate and participate in community outings and social activities based on individual care plans.
* Provide medication assistance and support with medical appointments.
* Assist with domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and household maintenance.
* Support clients in managing emotions and challenging behaviours.
* Maintain accurate client records, including shift progress notes and incident reports.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and management to ensure quality service provision.
Essential Criteria
* Current Australian driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with full comprehensive insurance and registration.
* Current First Aid certificate and CPR refresher.
* NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain.
* Manual Handling certificate or willingness to complete.
* Current National Police Check (within the last 12 months) or willingness to obtain.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
Education and Training Requirements
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability or Aged Care) is preferred, or an equivalent qualification.
* Certificate IV in Disability or Aged Care is highly desirable.
* Completion of the NDIS Orientation Module and awareness of the NDIS Code of Conduct is required.
* Or willing to enrol into a community-based certificate.
Job Details
* Job Type: Part-time, Casual
* Pay: Based on SCHADS Award Level, depending on education and experience ($35.00 – $41.00 per hour base rate).
* Expected Hours: Up to 38 hours per week.
* Schedule: Shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
* Work Location: In person – primarily in Higgins/Tuggeranong, with travel as required.
