The primary objective of this role is to perform both preventative and corrective maintenance tasks within the trade discipline. The specialist collaborates with the facilities team to execute tasks efficiently in line with contract specifications.
Key responsibilities include assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining heating, cooling, and refrigeration equipment using hand and power tools. Additionally, they ensure efficient operation by ventilating equipment and controls. This includes performing maintenance work on cooling units, diagnosing electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions, inspecting and maintaining refrigerators and chilled water supply systems, and inspecting and maintaining the Building Management System (BMS).
Other essential duties include undertaking other tasks as requested, wearing appropriate protective clothing and/or equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, codes, and standards, and following proper procedures, equipment, and training. Effective communication skills are necessary for fostering positive working relationships with trades staff, clients, client sub-contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
Regular evaluation of objectives and plans ensures continual improvement and alignment with changing project and client priorities.
