Job description ABOUT YOUR ORGANISATION

Central Australian Women's Legal Service (CAWLS) is a community legal centre providing free, confidential legal services to women across Central Australia. We are committed to empowering women, promoting access to justice, and supporting those affected by domestic and family violence through culturally safe. trauma-informed practice.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a key leadership position responsible for supervising lawyers, delivering legal services, and ensuring best-practice, trauma-informed support for clients. You will work closely with senior management to drive service excellence and positive outcomes for women and children.

Key responsibilities
* Lead, supervise and mentor a team of lawyers delivering DFV legal services
* Provide legal advice, casework and court representation (DFV, family and civil law)
* Oversee quality assurance, including review of legal documents and case strategies
* Manage and allocate caseloads, ensuring client safety and service priorities
* Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to deliver holistic support
* Contribute to organisational compliance, reporting and continuous improvement
ABOUT YOU
* Qualified lawyer with a current (or eligible) practising certificate
* Demonstrated experience in domestic and family violence law
* Strong leadership and team management capability
* Excellent communication skills and client-centred approach
* Commitment to trauma-informed practice and social justice
* Ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and diverse client groups
