About The Role
Barossa Co-op is seeking a dedicated HR and Payroll Coordinator to join their supportive team in the heart of the Barossa Valley. This full-time position offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact within a respected community organisation, where your expertise in human resources will help shape positive experiences for employees and leaders alike.
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR/Payroll Coordinator, will play a pivotal role in supporting daily operations across the HR department.
Key Responsibilities
* Process fortnightly payroll using systems such as Employee Connect and Keypay, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and modern awards.
* Maintain accurate digital and physical employee records while supporting HR reporting and compliance documentation.
* Coordinate recruitment activities, partner with hiring managers, and oversee onboarding/offboarding processes.
* Assist with month-end financial and operational reports by providing accurate information and statistical data as requested.
* Co-ordinate internal communications that keep our employees informed and engaged.
* Assist with training needs analysis and coordinate bookings for team member development.
* Participate in HR and organisational improvement projects, to streamline processes and enhance the employee experience.
* Support the implementation of HRIS modules as required, ensuring changes to conditions of employment are managed accurately within HR & Payroll systems.
About You
The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with professionalism and service excellence.
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a generalist HR or payroll role within a medium-sized business environment
* Proven ability to successfully use HRIS/Payroll systems such as Employee Connect, Keypay or Easy Employer Rostering & Timesheets with high accuracy.
* Strong knowledge of interpreting Awards (e.g., General Retail Industry Award) and Fair Work obligations.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with a warm and empathetic style that builds strong relationships and supports effective coaching for leaders and employees.
* High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
* Degree or tertiary qualification in Business or Human Resources (desired)
