This is a one-year contracted role with the potential to continue on.Reports toThis role reports to the NHWNT Office Manager & Chief Executive OfficerPrimary ObjectiveTo coordinate and grow the Neighbourhood Watch organisation, activities and volunteers in the Northern Region of the NT in order to provide preventative safety information to all Territorians.
The role will be supported by the NHWNT Offices and the Alice Springs Police.About NHWNTNeighbourhood Watch NT is a not-for-profit community-based crime prevention organisation first established in the Northern Territory in 1988.Neighbourhood Watch NT delivers programs that empower people to take responsibility for their own safety and encourages cooperative crime prevention partnerships between the community and the Northern Territory Police.NHWNT is governed by a Board of Management.
Our current team includes a CEO, Marketing and Office Manager and Auxiliary Officer.ResponsibilitiesPromotion of NHWNT events, resources, campaigns and messaging throughout the Northern RegionIdentifying and creating community connection events and education opportunities to share safety information with the greater publicManagement of all events, stalls, presentations in the regionHave and maintain an understanding of the local community issuesDrive the growth of NHWNT membership and activity in the Southern and Barkly regionsPresent community information sessions to local community groups and/or school groupsBuild and manage the Southern Region's volunteer baseBe the key representative of all NHWNT matters in the Southern RegionRepresent NHWNT at relevant meetings and eventsBuild excellent working relationships with key stakeholders and identify possible partnerships and collaborationsAssist with social media posting and follower growthProject management of Southern InitiativesEnsure all reporting requirements are metAdvocacy on behalf of the Region and the NHWNT organisationKey Selection CriteriaProven experience in community engagement / customer service / events / volunteer managementPrevious project management experienceA passion for community safetyThe ability to work independently and be a team playerExcellent communication skills both written and verbalComputer literate and able to use basic programs such as Word, Office and PowerPointFlexible with the ability to work weekends and afternoons when an event or presentation occurs and occasionally stay overnight on trips from Darwin to rural areas such as Katherine, Nhulunbuy and other Northern Region areasReliable with a high level of integrityMust qualify for a NT Ochre CardMust have a car and current insuranceHow to ApplyIf you would like to apply for this exciting position please send your resume, a writing sample and cover letter detailing your relevant experience before 3 October close of business to:Salary match Number of applicants Skills matchApplication QuestionsWhich of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
