Senior Communications and Engagement Officer
The Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria seeks a Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to play a key role in the delivery of the Victorian Government's commitment to regulate the lawful supply of tobacco through a new licensing scheme.
About The Opportunity
This initiative aims to:
* Prohibit the sale of tobacco products by anyone not holding a valid licence under the Act.
* Safeguard the suitability of licensed retailers and wholesalers.
* Minimise risks associated with tobacco sales through enforceable licence conditions.
* Enable efficient and effective regulatory oversight.
As Senior Communications and Engagement Officer, you will develop and implement strategic communications and engagement plans that support the rollout and long-term success of the Tobacco Licensing Victoria (TLV) scheme.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting To The Principal Adviser, Engagement, You Will
* Develop clear, accessible, and engaging content to educate stakeholders on licensing requirements and regulatory changes.
* Provide expert advice on stakeholder needs, risks, and messaging strategies.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, government partners, and external stakeholders to ensure consistent and effective communication.
Requirements
You must have experience in developing and delivering communications and engagement strategies, ideally in a public sector or regulatory context. You should bring excellent writing and content development skills across formats and audiences, as well as the ability to quickly grasp new subject matter and provide sound, timely advice.
