Primary objective
Effectively manage, mentor, and train a team of staff who are responsible for coordinating Patient Transport, including relief to
ensure the provision of a customer focused and effective Patient Transport service for the Central Australian community.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Manage, lead and support the Patient Transport team.
* Provide training and mentorship for the Patient Transport Team. Ensure optimal staffing levels by rostering via the Onestaff rostering system.
* Converse and communicate with staff at all levels, members of the public, external agencies and non-government organisations (NGO).
* Be proficient with all administrative systems and processes associated with the effective operation Patient Transport.
* Provide advice and support to the Transport Manager on matters of administrative responsibility.
* Problem solve and exercise critical analysis of any issue affecting the timely delivery of services to clients.
* Consult, mediate and advocate for clients, in particular Indigenous clientele utilising resources available e.g. Aboriginal Liaison Officers and Interpreters.
* Follow defined service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
* Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
* Demonstrated experience in managing a small team with the ability to display staff supervision, leadership qualities by being a positive role model and resources person. Working in a team environment.
* Demonstrated ability to manage diverse, complex and stressful situations in an efficient and effective manner; possess high level communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills and ability to observe strict confidentiality.
* Demonstrated ability to utilise Information Technology (IT), including databases, to facilitate organisational efficiency, including computer applications and mainframe systems for example Acacia, Jade Care Clinical Booking (JCCB) system, TMS, and Shared Electronic Health Record (SEHR).
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise workload to meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to monitor and develop new procedures to improve processes.
* Effective oral and written communication skills in addition to well developed interpersonal and negotiation skills to allow for effective functioning as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
* An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
Desirable
* Knowledge of the Government Accounting System (GAS) or Electronic Invoice Management System (EIMS).
* Completed year 12 or equivalent, possesses a Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent.
