About The Role
Join Us as Team Leader – Accounts Payable and Receivable
Are you ready to lead with impact? The City of Hobart is seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to oversee our Accounts Payable and Receivable operations.
In this pivotal role, you will drive financial accuracy, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service across our financial functions. If you are passionate about leading teams, streamlining processes, and making a difference in your community, we would love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities of the role;
* Lead and manage the finance team by providing direction, support, and professional development.
* Manage the daily operations of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and exceptional customer service.
* Lead a team of four finance officers, providing supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
* Manage the City's payment processes, credit management, and debt collection in line with Council policy.
* Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls to support continuous improvement and mitigate financial risks.
* Reconcile and approve general ledger accounts related to accounts payable and receivable.
* Use financial systems and data proactively to support operational excellence and informed decision-making.

About You

Essentials For The Role
* Hold a diploma in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, with relevant experience in a similar role.
* Have at least three years' experience supervising and mentoring staff, with a strong ability to foster a positive and high-performing team culture.
* Possess in-depth knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes within a complex organisation.
* Demonstrate proficiency in financial systems (preferably NAVision) and are confident using a range of digital tools and platforms.
* Have a solid understanding of GST legislation and experience applying financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
* Communicate clearly and professionally, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
