The Role
The Maritime Integrated Warfare Systems (MIWS) Branch is seeking professional, motivated and APS 6 Configuration Officer to support Projects to deliver cutting edge capability. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring MIWS meet configuration, data governance, and digital engineering standards, while developing and supporting a high-performing CDM workforce.
You will assist in the uplift capability of configuration activities that spans across people, processes, tools and training, and ensure consistent execution of Configuration practices across multiple complex programs. You will be part of a dynamic team overseeing the Engineering change, Development, Installation and Configuration of Maritime Integrated Warfare systems. This may include the conduct or observation of physical configuration audit activities either in manufacturing plants, at the waterfront or out at sea. Ideally, you will have a configuration background, with experience across one or more of the following; systems engineering, dev-ops, data management, configuration management, combat systems, product lifecycle management, asset management or software engineering. As an APS 6 Configuration Officer, you will report directly to an EL1 Configuration Manager.
Some of your key duties may include:
* Design and establish configuration management and data management documentation.
* Lead capability development across people, processes, tools, and training within the Configuration Management function.
* Mentor team members to build consistency, quality, and technical excellence within the Configuration Management function.
* Coordinate configuration and data management activities across multi-disciplinary program teams.
* Apply robust configuration management principles to maintain product integrity and support digital engineering initiatives.
* Provide specialist expertise in Product Lifecycle Management systems to integrate configuration data across tools and environments.
* Ensure establishment of capability baselines and conducting assurance activities for a wide range of maritime capabilities.
* Largely, you will work to deliver complex capability through planning, organisation control and integration.
