About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our Hardware Engineering Group. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and enhancing cutting-edge products, parts, and assemblies while ensuring efficiency and adherence to high-quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have formal CAD training, experience with CAD and PLM tools, and a strong understanding of GD&T practices. They will also be familiar with AS1100 and DEF (AUST) 5085 standards and have excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Hardware Engineers to understand design requirements and limitations.
* Create CAD models, assemblies, and drawings to required standards.
* Administer and maintain CAD/PLM systems, including managing libraries and metadata in Windchill.
* Conduct tolerance studies and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) practices.
* Support design reviews, engineering investigations, and implement Model Based Definition (MBD) practices.
* Stay updated on technical advancements in 3D design, CAD drafting, and PLM tools.
* Recommend and implement initiatives for improving CAD outcomes.
