* Expected salary: $77,500 per year
Responsibilities
* Setting up workstation and organising required ingredients and equipment
* Weighing ingredients and ensuring right quantity and quality is used
* Preparation and mixing dough and baking
* Using modern machinery correctly in line with company food preparation processes
* Assisting in operating and managing the team of bakers
* Determining quantities of ingredients required daily and monitoring stock of baking ingredients
* Ordering new supplies and ingredients for the pastry section, when needed, and within budget
* Creating cakes, pastries and baked goods by following a set recipe
* Evaluating and assessing baked products to ensure food production is efficient and of consistently high quality
* Assembling and decorating cakes and pastries to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation
* Creating new recipes
* Monitoring equipment and ensuring all specialized pastry baking tools are in working order
* Preparing work schedules and keeping production records
* Ensuring produce is prepared in quantities which are in line with daily requirements and wastage
* Maintaining a clean work environment, in line with food safety and OHS standards
* Ensure all equipment and kitchen utensils are cleaned thoroughly
* Storing ingredients and equipment correctly
* Completing food preparation, wastage, temperature and other production and food safety reports
* Working as part of a team and liaising with Management
Requirements
* This position requires at least a relevant Cert IV qualification or a minimum of 3 years demonstrated relevant work experience.
* We are looking for individuals with extensive knowledge in pastries
* A flair and passion for preparing and baking pastry products at a consistently high quality
* Knowledge of use and maintenance of modern pastry baking equipment is a must
* Demonstrated consistent industry experience will be highly regarded
* Must be fast, efficient and reliable worker
