* Temporary full-time opportunity until 30 June 2029
* Office location - Coffs Harbour preferred, however other NPWS/DCCEEW office locations across NSW also considered by negotiation; Hybrid working supported
* Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $113K pa to $125K pa + super

As a Park Planning Officer with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, you'll be part of a large and collaborative team working across the state. This is your chance to contribute to the management of some of NSW's most iconic national parks in a varied and strategic role that spans the entire state.

About the RoleIn this role, you will:

* Prepare plans and strategies under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 that guide long‑term conservation, sustainable visitor access and integrated park management across large, complex protected area landscapes.
* Work closely with Aboriginal advisory groups, communities, experts and statutory bodies to integrate cultural, ecological and social values into planning.
* Support project milestones, risk management and statutory processes for developing plans of management.
* Help identify park values, assess threats and develop practical, evidence‑based planning responses for a large, complex landscape.

You understand the cultural, ecological, social and economic values of protected areas - and you're driven to protect and enhance them.

Essential Requirements

* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter including contemporary park management issues, best practise, relevant legislation and statutory obligations.
* Current Australian Class C Driver Licence (or equivalent).

Please Note: This role may require regular travel and overnight stays across NSW.
