Job Description
James Elliot Field (Trading as Precision Sheds) This role involves supporting the delivery of construction projects including concrete slabs, site works and prefabricated shed installations. The Civil Engineering Technician will conduct site inspections, check levels and dimensions, interpret drawings and specifications, and assist with estimation, coordination and ensuring works comply with project requirements. What We Offer: Competitive salary package Opportunity to work on a variety of construction projects Supportive and growing team environment Task & responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Conduct site inspections, measurements and field assessments to support construction planning and execution. Assist in checking site levels, dimensions and alignment against plans and specifications.
Interpret construction drawings, specifications and permit documentation. Prepare basic sketches, layouts and technical documentation for site works. Assist in material quantity take-offs, cost estimation and project scheduling.
Monitor construction activities to ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and relevant standards. Assist in monitoring slab preparation, reinforcement placement and structural components to ensure compliance with project specifications. Collect and record site data, measurements and project information.
Assist in coordinating site activities including concrete works, earthworks, retaining walls and prefabricated shed installations. Liaise with suppliers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Support compliance with building permits, safety requirements and construction regulations.
Maintain accurate project documentation, reports and records. Qualification & experience Requirements: Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in construction, civil works or related projects.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Ability to perform basic measurements, calculations and quantity estimations for site works. Experience in site-based construction activities, including concrete or earthworks, is desirable.
Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work both on-site and in a technical support capacity. About Company Precision Sheds is a growing construction company delivering shed construction, concrete slab works, earthworks and retaining wall projects across regional Victoria.
