Position: School Crossing Supervisor, Wangaratta, VIC. Casual opportunities. $38.80 per hour + super (includes 25% casual loading). This role involves being the friendly and reliable face that helps children, families, and pedestrians cross safely at school crossings and traffic lights.
About the Role
As a School Crossing Supervisor, you'll ensure safety, provide reassurance and create a positive experience for everyone at the crossing. You'll act as a trusted familiar presence in your neighbourhood and help keep our youngest community members safe every day.
You'll
* Assist children and families to safely cross at designated school crossings and traffic lights
* Monitor traffic and supervise crossing areas during set morning and afternoon shift times
* Maintain a high level of awareness, professionalism and visibility at all times
* Report any incidents, near misses or safety concerns promptly
* Be flexible to travel to various crossings across the municipality as needed
What We're Looking For
* A calm, confident and responsible individual who enjoys interacting with the community
* A current Working with Children Check (Employee) and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
* A good understanding of road and pedestrian safety
* Flexibility and reliability during school term times
* Experience in traffic control, child supervision or a similar role is a bonus, but not essential
