Role Overview
WEX is seeking a Senior Solutions Manager to lead strategic partnerships and scheme relations across the APAC region. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for card payments, you will serve as the primary interface between global payment networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard) and WEX's internal business units. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating complex network requirements into commercial strategies, optimizing regional performance, and implementing end-to-end payment solutions that support WEX's growth across Asia-Pacific.
Key Responsibilities
* Market Expansion: Lead geographic expansion initiatives across APAC, identifying and implementing commercial models for SME, open-loop, and mobile payment solutions.
* Scheme Management: Act as the lead SME for scheme-driven innovations. Oversee BIN portfolio expansion and ensure all new solutions align with regional business priorities.
* Product & Customer Innovation: Collaborate with P&L leaders and customers to design and implement innovative scheme solutions, including local acceptance programs and customer-led ideation.
* End-to-End Implementation: Coordinate the full lifecycle of scheme solution delivery. This includes synchronizing efforts across Sales, Product, Technology, Operations, and Risk to ensure technical and commercial standards are met.
* Commercial Analysis: Review P&Ls and business cases to ensure data-driven decision-making and optimal financial outcomes for regional initiatives.
Selection Criteria: Experience & Skills
* Industry Expertise: Significant experience in B2B/Commercial payments, with specific expertise in virtual cards. Knowledge of Fleet card solutions is highly regarded.
* Product Management: A proven background in payments product management within an Issuing or Acquiring environment.
* Network Knowledge: Deep understanding of scheme/network solutions, solution mapping, and BIN/Card economics.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional operational teams.
* Regulatory Awareness: Ability to evaluate regulatory shifts and future network changes to determine their impact on financial operations.
* Project Governance: Experience managing complex strategic initiatives from inception through to commercial realization.
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related discipline.
* Professional Experience: 7+ years in commercial contract management or financial services, with direct exposure to major payment networks (Visa/Mastercard).
* Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and business case analysis (Excel / Google Suite).
