About the job

As a Monitoring and Network Technician, you will play a key role in helping SA Water proactively manage its water and wastewater networks. By using leading-edge monitoring technologies and instrumentation services, you'll support both short and long-term operational and asset-related decisions, directly helping to prevent issues such as bursts, sewer overflows, odour complaints and trade waste incidents.

You will be responsible for the supervision of field operations, installation and maintenance of sensors, data analysis, and technical advice delivery to internal and external stakeholders. Your work will contribute to public health and environmental protection, while also helping to drive efficiency and provide efficient service delivery.

About Operations and Maintenance

The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Your success in this role will come from:

* A recognised technical qualification or equivalent experience in electronics and/or sanitary plumbing (essential)
* Experience working within water and sewer utility operations (desirable)
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Effective interpersonal and communication abilities
* A proactive and collaborative approach with the ability to work autonomously
* A safety-first mindset, along with relevant licences such as a current driver's licence (essential) work zone traffic management, and confined space tickets or willing to obtain.
