The Role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for design and analysis of structures and mechanical systems—from concept through to production, verification, and operation – for hypersonic vehicles. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of engineers and designers, working under aggressive schedules to deliver high-performance solutions across all our products and services.
Responsibilities include:
* Design and analyse mechanical structures and systems for hypersonic vehicles.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical integrity and performance.
* Use advanced simulation and analysis tools to evaluate systems under varied operating conditions.
* Contribute to the development of innovative technologies and processes to enhance vehicle performance and efficiency.
* Maintain and update design documentation using established configuration management processes.
* Support subcontractor management and work under the guidance of the Mechanical Lead.

To be successful in this role you will need:
* At least 4+ years of experience in mechanical systems design and simulation within aerospace or other high-technology industries.
* Strong expertise in mechanical design and analysis, backed by practical hands-on experience with computer simulations and analysis tools.
* Strong foundations and ability to deliver high-quality technical solutions and demonstrating excellence in core engineering competencies.
* Experience with design for production.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
* Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and solving engineering challenges.
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and engineering software tools.
* Self-motivated and adaptable, with a strong committed to teamwork, continuous improvement and achieving results.
Desirable
* Siemens NX and Teamcentre experience.
* Aircraft design, hypersonic technology or actuator design and simulation in the aerospace sector.

* Must be able to meet any applicable security clearance or background check requirements relevant to the role.
* Applicants must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to meet Defence Export Control compliance requirements.
