About this exciting opportunity
As our SeaSim Technical Officer you will contribute to the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of systems that support the experimentation, holding, propagation, and breeding of marine organisms for research programs within the SeaSim Precinct. You will provide hands-on operational input and technical support for the SeaSim facility, including the operation, optimisation, and maintenance of life support systems, as well as the configuration and execution of scientific experiments within the AIMS Seawater Precinct.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
* Accessing SCADA for daily operation and alarm identification and action;
* Providing support for the reliable operation, optimisation and maintenance of life support and experimental systems; and
* Utilising strong plumbing skills to set up experimental systems and construct holding facilities for marine organisms.
About you
Underpinning your suitability for the role will be your relevant qualifications, trade certification, or equivalent experience aligned with the position summary and responsibilities. You are able to analyse problems, identify solutions, and take proactive steps to achieve positive outcomes. You can adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances in a dynamic work environment and have demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate within a team environment. The ability to operate, monitor, and optimise life support systems used in research, aquaculture, or aquarium environments and plumbing or construction experience is highly desirable.

* AIMS AOF Level 3 Enhanced salary ($76,454 to $95,846 per annum) plus 15.4% superannuation
