About the role
As a Senior Communication Officer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the narrative of SLI and contribute to the enhancement of learning experiences of teachers and students, by leveraging your expertise in digital media, website management and content production. Your responsibilities will also include:
4. Foster collaborative efforts with the team and the Department of Education to drive effectively Internal staff engagement in leadership development programs.
5. Raise awareness of the SLI’s work.
6. Create engaging digital and written content, including videos, audios and website materials.
7. Provide strategic advice to senior management for impactful decision-making and aligning communication strategies with the department’s goals.

Essential requirements of the role
9. Tertiary qualifications in marketing/communications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
10. Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
11. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education

12. Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s and upholding the and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have a proactive and collaborative approach to working in a team. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, you will demonstrate:
13. Strong experience in digital media, website management and content production
14. Proven track record in developing effective communication strategies and reaching target audiences.
15. Familiarity with educational leadership or public sector is desirable.
16. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and experience using Adobe Creative Suite to design and produce high-quality visual content.
17. Have 5 + years’ experience in communications or a related field.
