This programme is about delivering ‘one best way’. How will I help? This is a unique opportunity for a full stack Performance Engineer to join our dynamic Technology Digital team. This team uses a wide range of technologies to design, architect, develop, and support solutions for both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of applications. The role requires expertise in application architecture design patterns, development best practices, and deep technical knowledge of the .NET technology stack, front-end technologies, and relational/non-relational databases. Core Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products for our Westpac Digital platform. Design and implement performance tuning strategies for application scalability. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using profiling and monitoring tools. Work with development squads to implement best practices for application performance. Optimise database queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies. Strong understanding of application design patterns and scalable architectures. Proven experience as a Performance Engineer developing customer-facing high TPS applications. Passion for delivering quality customer experiences and writing highly performant code. Sound knowledge of .NET technology stack (C#, WCF, MVC, APIs) and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, React/Redux, NodeJS). Experience with relational (Microsoft t-SQL) and non-relational databases. Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure monitoring tools. What’s it like to work there?
