Power and Water Corporation – Empowering the Northern Territory. Power and Water Corporation, a Northern Territory Government-owned utility, operates across an expansive 1.3 million square kilometres, providing essential electricity generation, transmission and distribution, as well as water supply and wastewater treatment services to communities across the NT, including remote Aboriginal communities and outstations.
We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating the reporting, presentation, and analysis of cost drivers, forecasts, and budgets for various business units. Key responsibilities include designing reports, analysing key performance indicators, financial modelling, and delivering insightful financial presentations and management reports in collaboration with the Finance Business Partner.
Location: Finance and Business Services, Darwin. Remuneration: Band 3 Administrative Corporate Services - Remuneration Package Range $141,070 - $170,631* (including salary $124,487 - $150,887). Vacancy: One full time ongoing vacancy.
We are a not-for-profit subsidiary Indigenous Essential Services Pty Ltd (IES) related part of Power and Water, serving 72 remote communities and contributing to the Northern Australia Development plan. We have a large workforce across the Northern Territory.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the reporting, presentation, and analysis of cost drivers, forecasts, and budgets for various business units.
- Design reports, analyse key performance indicators, perform financial modelling, and deliver insightful financial presentations and management reports in collaboration with the Finance Business Partner.
- Provide risk-based financial advice and resolve complex financial issues through strong analytical interpretation of financial data.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels and manage complex situations in culturally diverse environments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Broad knowledge of accounting principles with practical application in preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, and management accounting.
- Strong ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and collaborative environment; experience in a utility or similar operational environment is highly desirable.
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and membership with CA ANZ or CPA Australia are desirable.
