Join our team as a Facilities Caretaker You'll be the go‑to person for maintaining and managing our many and varied Council facilities. Your day‑to‑day will involve minor maintenance tasks, managing bookings, setting up for events, and ensuring our buildings and grounds are always clean and safe. You'll also be the friendly face handling customer enquiries, processing bookings and associated administrative tasks, including invoicing, and ensuring everyone has a great experience using our facilities. This role also involves financial responsibilities, so accuracy in invoicing, record‑keeping and cost tracking is crucial.
As part of this role, you will be required to work within a shift roster system.
About You
We're looking for someone with a knack for building maintenance and excellent communication skills. You'll need to be confident using Microsoft Office and comfortable working with electronic building access systems. Strong administration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage financial and invoicing requirements are essential. Being a collaborative team member is important, but you'll also be expected to work independently, show initiative and manage your workload effectively.
In this hands‑on role, you'll be the friendly face of Armidale Regional Council's facilities, coordinating venue bookings, overseeing functions and ensuring our buildings and grounds remain clean, safe and welcoming for the community. You'll take pride in presenting our Armidale and Guyra sites at their best — from setting up spaces and supporting events to maintaining accurate electronic records, managing administrative and financial processes, and reporting maintenance or safety issues as they arise.
At Council, we believe in looking out for each other and the community we serve. Whether you're out in the field or helping customers face-to-face, our values—wellbeing, inclusion, commitment, and transparency—guide everything we do.
We're looking for people who bring a positive attitude, take pride in their work, and support their teammates to do the same.
If you care about doing a good job and making a real difference every day, we'd love to have you on the team.
