Recognised as industry leaders in wildlife strike mitigation, we have delivered projects for air operators, regulators, and airports at more than 70 national, international, and military locations. About the Role Based in Adelaide, you will report directly to the Team Leader - South Australia and be part of the Avisure Southern Australia team, servicing both South Australia and Victoria. This position requires excellent organisational and observational skills to support our team of consultants.Key responsibilities include:Conducting wildlife surveysPerforming airfield wildlife inspections and dispersalManaging wildlife on and around airfieldsCollating and analysing dataLiaising with clients and stakeholdersOccasional assistance with feral animal programsThe successful candidate will receive on-the-job training to meet Avisure's professional standards. Work Hours This is a field-based role with some office duties:Fieldwork shifts are mostly rostered between 7am and 7pm, with early morning, evening, and weekend shifts as needed.Office-based work is generally during standard business hours.Salary is based on experience required for the role. Interstate projects may require some travel.Successful applicants must complete a pre-employment fitness-for-work assessment. Requirements of the Role Qualification in wildlife management, such as Certificate III or Diploma in Conservation and Land Management, or equivalent with a focus on wildlife.Strong wildlife identification skills and experience in conducting field surveys.Ability to problem-solve and work both independently and as part of a team.Strong communication skills, reliability, initiative, and ability to prioritise workload.High situational awareness and a demonstrated ability to operate in aviation or similar high-risk environments.Willingness to travel, including remote or interstate projects (2-3 weeks at a time).Successful National Police Checks.Willingness to obtain a firearms licence and operate associated equipment for wildlife control. Highly Regarded Skills & Attributes The following qualifications and experience would be highly regarded:Experience conducting ornithological surveys and wildlife studies.Knowledge and experience in vertebrate pest control and wildlife management.Experience in stakeholder engagement and public speaking.Experience working on airfields or within an aviation environment.Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) Certificate.Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC).Firearms licence - Categories A, B and/or C.First Aid and CPR certification.Proficiency in report writing, data collation, and data analysis.Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
