Signs & Lines has grown to operate at the quality end of the market competing with the largest sign companies in Perth. From humble beginnings, our in‐house operation now allows us to design, manufacture and install a wide range of signs to very high standards. Whilst signage has evolved significantly over time, the primary function remains the same – to convey a message.
We are seeking a highly experienced FABRICATOR to join our team of talented professionals on a full‐time permanent basis. Duties include but are not limited to:
* Study and understand blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine fabrication job requirements
* Measure and mark out the size, shape and location of cutouts and joints on metal stock
* Use specialised tools to cut, bend or shape metal into the desired structure or product specifications
* Join metal sections together by welding, bolting and riveting, ensuring all parts are properly fitted, aligned and screwed in
* Examine welds for width of bead, penetration and precision, and perform necessary repairs or reworks
* Cleans and smooths welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
* May program machinery or computer‐aided fabrication tools to optimise fabrication process
* Maintain and follow a production schedule
* Test products for their functionality, ensuring quality control standards are met
* Troubleshoot and stress‐test products to minimise problems or recalls
* Report and detail product malfunctions
* Adhere to assembly safety standards
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
* Trade certificate in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent
* Proficient in operating heavy machinery
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints
* Experience working with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminium, and other alloys
* Familiarity with a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct quality checks on completed work
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
* Knowledge and adherence of safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace
* Strong communication and reporting skills
* Self‐motivated, organised, punctual and reliable
* Must have great work ethics
