Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team for a 12 month Mat-leave cover. This is a dual function role where you will be solely responsible for our weekly payroll processing while providing essential support to the Company Accountant.
The role
Reporting directly to the Company Accountant, you will ensure our team is paid accurately and on time, every time. This role is perfect for a finance professional who enjoys a mix of payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general office administration within a supportive, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Payroll: Oversee and process weekly payroll, maintain employee entitlement records, and manage superannuation.
Compliance: Interpret industrial awards and registered agreements to ensure all payments meet statutory requirements.
Financial Support: Manage staff purchases, reconcile credit cards, process petty cash, and assist with accounts payable tasks.
Contract Administration: Prepare employment contracts and maintain both paper and electronic employee records. Occasional front desk cover (minimal)
Corporate Billing: Raise monthly invoices for corporate wage recovery and rental property costs.
Who You Are
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring
Experience: 2 + years in a payroll and accounts role
Tech Savvy: High level of competence in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Efficiency: The ability to work under pressure, meet strict bank cut-off times, and prioritize your workload effectively.
Detail-Oriented: A commitment to accuracy in data entry and statutory reporting.
