Highway Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep of our city's roads and infrastructure.
About the Job
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and taking pride in their work. As a Highway Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for providing cleansing duties in support of our road sweeper operation, drainage, and infrastructure maintenance. Your tasks will include removing litter and hazardous objects from road reserves and open space areas, and undertaking program and reactive maintenance of drainage systems.
You will be working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, so excellent time and organisational skills are essential. You must also be able to adapt to changing situations as they arise. In addition, you will need to maintain a high standard of Work, Health, and Safety for yourself and your colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cleansing duties in support of road sweeper operation, drainage, and infrastructure maintenance
* Removal of litter and hazardous objects from road reserves and open space areas
* Program and reactive maintenance of drainage systems, including cleansing of side entry pits, junction boxes, roundabouts, and median islands
Requirements:
* Maintain a high standard of Work, Health, and Safety
* Adapt to changing situations
* Excellent time and organisational skills
* MR (Medium Rigid) driver's licence
* Work Zone Traffic Management certificate (or willingness to obtain)
