Power Systems Engineer Team Leader – City of Brisbane
Salary: AUD 120,000 – 150,000.

Responsibilities
* Lead and empower a diverse, high‐performing team, guiding specialists who connect renewable generation, storage, and hybrid projects to the National Electricity Market.
* Provide trusted grid advisory services, helping clients navigate connection strategy, generator performance standards, system strength considerations, and registration with a focus on practical, inclusive problem‐solving.
* Drive excellence in power system modelling, overseeing the use of industry‐standard tools (PSS E, PSCAD, PowerFactory and OEM models) while coaching the team to build capability and confidence.
* Empower energy transformation by working with purpose alongside clients and colleagues to deliver projects that contribute to a cleaner, more reliable, and more equitable energy future.
* Collaborate across disciplines, partnering with engineering, commercial, digital, advisory and environmental teams to co‐create solutions to complex system needs.
* Champion quality and continuous improvement, refining modelling approaches, uplifting capability and fostering a learning culture that supports career development.
* Support growth and wellbeing, mentoring team members, promoting inclusive practices, and contributing to business development through authentic relationship‐building.
* Build a high‐performing power systems team through strategic recruitment of highly skilled individuals and developing in‐house talent.
Qualifications
* 15+ years of experience in power systems or grid connection consulting, utilities, developers or operations, or a comparable mix of experience aligned with grid advisory and modelling work.
* Strong capability in grid connection modelling, with experience in PSS E, PSCAD, PowerFactory or equivalent tools, and an understanding of generation control systems.
* Collaborative and supportive leadership style, engaging confidently with clients and colleagues, valuing diverse perspectives, and creating environments where people do their best work.
* Relevant electrical engineering qualifications and RPEQ registration (or willingness to obtain).
