Staff Specialist in Paediatric Palliative Medicine
Location: John Hunter Children's Hospital, Newcastle, NSW (Permanent full time 1.0 FTE)
We're looking for a compassionate and collaborative specialist to join our Paediatric Palliative Care Service (PPCS) at John Hunter Children's Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to provide holistic, family‐centred care to children across the Hunter New England region and the Child Health Network – Northern.
You'll be part of a small, dedicated team making a big impact – supporting children and families and helping shape the future of paediatric palliative care in NSW.
What You'll Do
* Provide specialist paediatric palliative care across inpatient, outpatient and community settings
* Participate in after hours support and statewide on‐call advisory services
* Collaborate with internal and external healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care
* Contribute to education and training for medical students, junior doctors, nursing and allied health staff
* Engage in research, quality improvement and service development initiatives
What We're Looking For
* Fellowship of the RACP and Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (or equivalent)
* Current specialist registration with AHPRA
* Demonstrated experience in interdisciplinary teamwork and compassionate care delivery
* Strong communication, leadership and teaching skills
