Job Description
Our team is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our Kalgoorlie Pump Service Centre. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for workshop duties, including on-site mechanical repairs and inspections. Your role will involve ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop and maintaining high standards in our work.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical trade and experience with maintenance and rebuild/assembly of slurry pumps. They will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to interpret safety rules, drawings, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
We are looking for an individual who is physically fit and able to travel with short notice. This new position is located in Kalgoorlie, and domestic relocation assistance may be provided for the right person.
Key Duties:
* Repairing and refurbishing used pumps as well as assembling new pumps in the Kalgoorlie service facility.
* Carrying out hands-on service work such as adjustments, installation, commissioning, and operation of pumps on and off customer sites.
* Internal and external report writing at completion of every field service job.
* Conducting and/or assisting with investigations of customer failures regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered conditions of products.
* Contributing to clients with technical evaluations and analysing equipment and machine component failures.
* Solving practical on-the-job problems and providing solutions to customers and mechanical crews.
* Promoting company repair & service capabilities and obtaining ongoing works.
* Promoting the sales and usage of MO wear and spare parts.
* Identifying sales opportunities for pumps and hydrocyclones.
Requirements:
* Mechanical trade qualification with at least 2 years' experience.
* Experience with maintenance and/or rebuild/assembly of slurry pumps.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
* Hold a current motor vehicle license and be able to pass random medical and drug tests.
* Physically fit.
* Ability to travel with short notice.
* Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required.
