Major Responsibilities:
* Completion of field testing, inspections, and processing of related construction engineering documentation. Documentation will include various soil test records, construction completion records, as built drawings and non-conformance reports
* Collecting geotechnical data from sensors and field logs
* Analysing soil and rock properties (e.g., cohesion, friction angle, moisture content)
* Interpreting monitoring data to detect trends or early warning signs of failure
* Using software and tools for slope stability modelling
* Assessing slope failure risks based on geological and hydrological conditions
* Preparing technical reports with recommendations for mitigation
* Communicating findings to project managers, safety teams, and stakeholders
* Responsible for the activities of assigned construction engineers, such as the application of drawings, specifications, and subcontracts
* Monitoring the use of field equipment on tailings surfaces and identify risks and challenges
* Respond to technical queries from construction stakeholders with technical solutions that are considerate of costs and quality objectives
* Complete field inspections to ascertain the completions status of civil construction scopes, including the completion of related documentation
* Contribute to the technical teams work to progress critical works scope by assisting with options analysis and detailed scoping
* Coordinates with the Site Construction Manager on activities affecting the contract administration operation
* Works with various functions to ensure the project achieves corporate goals set for environmental, safety & health, quality, cost, and schedule
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 6-8 years of relevant experience or 8-10 years of relevant work experience (CPEng preferred)
* Experience in engineering of Mining or significant Civil projects in Australia
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Strong knowledge of project engineering processes and procedures and the interaction with the other disciplines
* Experience and proven ability to manage Geotechnical engineering packages
* Experience in Geotechnical Testing and Analytical practices coupled with current knowledge of new methods of design and constructability
* Effective communication skills along with demonstrated supervision skills
* Solid planning and problem-solving skills
