Are you a finance professional who thrives on purpose‐driven work and enjoys partnering with researchers/clinical trials to make a real difference? Join South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) as a Finance Officer – Clinical Trials/Research, where your expertise will directly support clinical trials/research that improves health outcomes for our communities. In this role, you will provide expert advice, oversight, and guidance to Clinical Trials/Research cost centres, ensuring research financial activities are efficient, compliant, and sustainable. You'll play a key part in enabling high‐quality research by supporting sound financial decision‐making and building strong relationships with clinicians, researchers and leaders.

The ideal candidate will be detail‐oriented, proactive and highly collaborative, with strong financial acumen and a genuine passion for supporting clinical trials, research excellence and improved healthcare outcomes. They will bring a disciplined approach to financial oversight, an ability to anticipate needs, and the confidence to work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective coordination and delivery of research activities. With strong communication skills and a commitment to precision, they will thrive in a dynamic environment where accuracy, initiative and teamwork directly contribute to advancing clinical innovation and patient care.

Selection Criteria
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent, and extensive experience in accounting or finance including detailed knowledge managing budgets, preparing journals, invoicing, receipting and accruals.
* Highly computer literate with demonstrated proficiency in financial software such as Oracle R12, iProcurement (requisitions/purchase orders/check payments), Oracle Finance, SMRS, Microsoft Office suite and eCTRA or similar software.
* Effective communication skills, including experience building and maintaining relationships and liaising and influencing a broad range of staff and stakeholders to ensure adoption of new processes and compliance with policies.
* Demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a demonstrated capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a customer focused approach.
* Experience in the analysis and interpretation of financial transactions with the ability to manage sensitive financial matters including the preparation of complex correspondence and reports while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
* Demonstrated experience in prioritising own workload, meeting deadlines including meeting monthly/quarterly and annual reporting targets.
* Proven capacity to maintain complex financial accounting systems through efficient and effective utilisation of available resources.
