About The Role

The Maitland Mental Health Unit, part of Hunter New England Local Health District and located within Maitland Hospital, is seeking an experienced and motivated Level 1/2 Social Worker to join the multidisciplinary team on a permanent part-time basis (2 days per week).

In this role, you will provide high-quality clinical social work services to consumers admitted to the inpatient mental health unit, supporting both patients and their families/carers through acute mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive psychosocial assessments and interventionsSupport recovery-focused, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary teamProvide a strong psychosocial perspective to each episode of carePromote family, cultural, and carer inclusion in care planningConsult on family, domestic violence, and child protection mattersSupport patients at risk of homelessness and connect them with community servicesCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance continuity of care
