About The Role
Under the supervision and prescription of the Dentist/Dental Specialist, you will be responsible for the day‐to‐day provision of quality oral hygiene advice and dental hygiene services to patients in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures. You will also assist with administrative tasks such as maintenance of patient records as well as sterilisation and infection control procedures and maintaining optimal hygiene of the surgery.
To Be Successful In This Role
* Highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
* Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dental Hygienist or Oral Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Minimum of 2 years (full time equivalent) experience within the last 5 years.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi‐disciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high‐quality care to patients within a dental surgery.
About Edinburgh Health Centre
Edinburgh Health Centre is located 25km north of Adelaide, at RAAF Base Edinburgh. This super‐base accommodates 3500 personnel from the Australian Army and RAAF, as well as being home to the RAAF Institute of Aviation Medicine. The health centre operates a 16 bed low dependency ward 24/7. It also provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy, mental health, pharmaceutical and rehabilitation services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on‐call shifts).
About You
You are an experienced Dental Hygienist with a professional and friendly manner who enjoys interacting with patients and has an ability to put them at ease. Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and procedures, you take pride in contributing to the cleanliness and effectiveness of a dental surgery environment. You are a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do. You are passionate about providing dental hygiene services and working as part of a multi‐disciplinary team to support delivery of the highest standard of care to patients.
