This major Horticulture business is a market leader in high quality, volume green life products developed with a customer focus and produced through efficient and profitable processes. They are the largest producer and distributor of bedding plants in Australia with a selection of more than 600 varieties of flowers, vegetables and herbs.
The Despatch Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high volume product that meets the daily deadlines imposed by the clients and in accordance with tight labour cost budgets.
Responsible for a Team of 20 during quieter times and an enlarged group of 50 during seasonal peaks.
This role lends itself to a capable leader with a continuous improvement mindset and logistics experience especially where seasonal peaks exist and short-term contractors are required to meet demand (both labour and transport).
Importantly, the immediate Supervisory Staff manage the day-to-day activities of this function in the business. This allows the Despatch Manager to focus on strategic thinking and planning to improve efficiencies.
