About the Role
A rapidly growing and diversified Group of Companies is seeking a highly capable Financial Controller to lead financial operations across multiple business entities, including a regulated education provider (CRICOS-RTO), hospitality, Property development and other commercial ventures.
This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director, ideal for a hands-on finance professional who can strengthen financial systems, improve controls, drive efficiencies and support the strategic direction of the Group.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
* Oversee end-to-end accounting and financial operations across multi-entity structures.
* Prepare accurate monthly/quarterly management reports, annual financial statements and consolidated group reports.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and scenario planning.
* Conduct P&L analysis, financial modelling, cost-control initiatives and margin optimisation.
* Manage BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, payroll tax and all statutory compliance obligations.
RTO / Education Sector Financial Compliance
* Oversee student fee revenue, instalment schedules, refunds and CRICOS/RTO-related financial compliance.
* Lead external audits and internal financial reviews, ensuring alignment with sector standards and regulatory frameworks.
Leadership, Process Improvement & Team Management
* Supervise, mentor and develop a small accounts/finance team.
* Implement and refine SOPs, workflows, financial controls and system improvements.
* Strengthen internal control frameworks and ensure financial accuracy across the Group.
* Partner with senior leadership to provide insights, identify risks and support decision-making.
* Liaise with banks, auditors, external accountants and key stakeholders confidently and professionally.
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. CA/CPA qualification strongly preferred.
* Minimum 5–7 years in a senior accounting, Financial Controller or Finance Manager role.
* Demonstrated experience in multi-entity accounting, consolidated reporting and cashflow management.
* Prior exposure to CRICOS/RTO or regulated sectors (advantageous but not essential).
* Strong knowledge of Xero and related financial systems.
* Proven track record of improving systems, processes and financial efficiency.
* Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-business environment with high confidentiality and integrity.
