This is a unique opportunity to join one of Australia's well established and growing family-owned agribusiness groups, with business interests across Queensland. The role is based in our head office, located in Toowoomba.
We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented and analytical Group Accountant to join our team Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is hands-on and varied, ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with operations and understands the unique rhythms of agribusiness. The role combines core accounting responsibilities with analysis to support accurate reporting, and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards
* Responsibility for compliance accounting including completion of activity statements (BAS/IAS/PAYG)
* Handle consolidations across multiple entities
* Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
* Maintain fixed assets registers and prepayments schedules
* Prepare management reports and financial dashboards
* Improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
* Work closely with Finance team members to ensure integrity is maintained within our financial systems
* Completion of fortnightly payroll and all related activities
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* 5+ years of experience in accounting
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles
* High level of proficiency in Excel and MYOB
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
* CPA or equivalent certification preferred
