Remote Clinical Educator – Registered Nurse
Location: Big Rivers Region (based in Katherine, NT with travel to remote clinics)
This is a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Remote Area Nurse Educator to lead the implementation of a pilot Graduate Nursing Program in the Big Rivers region.
Hosted by Sunrise Health, and delivered in partnership Wurli Wurlinjang and Katherine West health board, this program will support 4–6 graduate nurses each year to begin their careers in remote practice.
The Remote Clinical Educator will play a pivotal role in:
 * Operationalising and coordinating the program across three health services
 * Supporting recruitment into the graduate pathway
 * Providing on-the-ground clinical training, supervision, and mentorship in remote clinics
 * Fostering professional development and building capacity for high-quality, client-centred care

Key Responsibilities
 * Engage with health services to confirm site readiness, define roles, and prepare for graduate recruitment
 * Provide clinical support, training, and mentorship in clinic settings
 * Coordinate and deliver professional development activities for graduates
 * Assess and demonstrate clinical procedures, ensuring best practice in client-centred care
 * Travel regularly to remote clinics in the Big Rivers region to support Graduate Nurses
About You
We're looking for a nurse leader who is passionate about remote health and developing the next generation of Remote Area Nurses. To be successful, you will have:
 * Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
 * Extensive experience in primary health care, ideally in Aboriginal community-controlled or remote settings
 * Demonstrated experience mentoring and supporting students or graduate nurses
 * Strong clinical knowledge and skills, with the ability to model and teach high-quality care
 * Excellent cross-cultural communication skills, particularly when working with Aboriginal clients and staff
 * Current NT C class driver's licence and the health/fitness required for remote travel
 * Desirable – Diploma of Clinical Education, Graduate Diploma of Nursing (Clinical Education), or equivalent; or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain)
